Our client is a growing North American industrial services company that repairs and maintains valves.

 

Job Description:

We need a highly organized and proactive Operations & Process Improvement Specialist. You will help standardize and document the company's operational workflows. This is a hands-on role. You will turn existing information, processes, and employee knowledge into clear, structured documentation. You should be comfortable working with different teams. You will identify gaps and inconsistencies. You will document best practices. You will create practical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), playbooks, onboarding materials, and training resources. You will work closely with management and employees. You will understand how processes currently work. You will identify opportunities for improvement. You will establish standardized workflows for company growth.

 

Responsibilities of the role:

• Review and document existing operational processes for office, sales, and shop operations.

• Develop and maintain clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational playbooks.

• Create and organize onboarding and training materials for new employees.

• Develop structured onboarding processes for office and shop personnel.

• Help standardize workflows for valve repair and shop operations.

• Create and improve sales and administrative playbooks.

• Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and inefficiencies in current workflows.

• Recommend improvements to workflows.

• Work with management and employees to gather process knowledge.

• Translate process knowledge into clear documentation.

• Establish centralized documentation for procedures, checklists, and training materials.

• Help create processes for rolling out changes.

• Ensure employees understand and follow updated procedures.

• Develop interview guides, questions, and evaluation processes for operational positions.

• Support the creation of an employee handbook and other internal documentation.

• Help establish scalable operational systems for future growth.

• Coordinate with different departments to ensure process alignment.

• Track projects and documentation initiatives.

 

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in operations, process improvement, project management, business operations, or a related field.

• Proven experience creating SOPs, process documentation, operational manuals, or playbooks.

• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

• Ability to turn complex or informal processes into clear, structured instructions.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to interview employees and gather information about processes.

• Experience identifying operational gaps and implementing process improvements.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple projects at once.

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.

• Strong written English communication skills.

• Comfortable working with teams across different functions and levels.

 

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, mechanical, construction, field service, or repair companies.

• Experience developing training programs or employee onboarding systems.

• Experience creating employee handbooks or internal knowledge bases.

• Experience with CRM, project management, or workflow management platforms.

• Experience working with remote teams.

• Previous experience in a small or growing company needing process standardization.
