About the Company:

Our client is a US-based firm that handles first-party property insurance claims for homeowners.

Job Description:

You will work on first-party property claims from intake through resolution by gathering documents, tracking deadlines, and keeping clients and carriers updated. Accuracy and follow-through matter most because a missed document or deadline can cost a homeowner their claim.

• Review insurance policies and claim files to flag coverage, exclusions, deadlines and missing documents for the attorneys.

• Draft correspondence to insurance carriers and adjusters, including demand letters, document requests and follow-ups.

• Track claim status, statutory and policy deadlines, and carrier responses in the case management system.

• Keep clients informed about where their claim stands by phone and email.

• Organize evidence and prepare claim packages, and help with filings when a claim moves to litigation or appraisal.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience as a paralegal, legal assistant or claims assistant working on US insurance claims.

• Experience with first-party property claims such as homeowners, storm, water or fire damage, or experience with personal property or life insurance claims.

• Very good spoken and written English at C1 level or above, comfortable speaking with US clients and adjusters by phone.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience at a US law firm handling insurance disputes, bad faith or denied claims.

• Familiarity with insurance appraisal, proof of loss forms or Xactimate estimates.

• A paralegal certificate or law degree.

• Spanish, to communicate with Spanish-speaking homeowners.

Personality:

• Detail-oriented with strong follow-through to ensure no deadlines or documents are missed.

Software & Tools:

• Case management systems

• Google Workspace or Microsoft Office

• Tools for organizing large document sets

Schedule:

Flexible hours within 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time

Salary and Benefits:

• Payment in USD or Local Currency according to candidate's preference.

• Full-time remote opportunity.
