Description

Job Title: Creative Strategist

About the Company:

Our client is a fast-paced DTC e-commerce brand focused on performance marketing and content-driven growth. They operate with an in-house creative team and are expanding their strategic capacity to push creative performance even further.

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Creative Strategist with a deep understanding of e-commerce and direct-to-consumer (DTC) marketing. The ideal candidate is a content-savvy marketer with a strong grasp of strategy, creativity, and analytics—someone who can ideate, plan, brief, and analyze creative content, but doesn’t need to execute the design or video editing directly.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in the e-commerce creative process who enjoys staying ahead of trends, working cross-functionally with designers, editors, and content creators, and who thrives in a strategic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead ideation for high-performing ads and organic content for e-commerce campaigns.

• Conduct creative research across platforms like TikTok and Instagram to identify trends and winning content structures.

• Translate ideas into actionable briefs for graphic designers, video editors, and UGC/content creators.

• Source and collaborate with creators, including briefing, communication, and (optionally) negotiation.

• Analyze creative performance using data and tools; identify patterns, optimize winners, and iterate.

• Act as the strategic hub between raw content creation and final performance creatives.

• Collaborate closely with in-house and external creative partners to deliver innovative content at scale.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• Proven experience working in or with DTC/e-commerce brands.

• Intermediate to advanced level experience in content strategy, marketing, or creative direction.

• Strong understanding of social-first content and creative performance metrics.

• Ability to write clear, detailed briefs and communicate creative vision effectively.

• Hands-on experience working with or briefing creators, editors, and designers.

• Familiarity with tools for creative research, analytics, and inspiration.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience using platforms like Foreplay, Motion, Atria, or similar for creative analysis and ideation.

• Background working with both static and video creative formats.

• Ability to identify, source, and manage relationships with content creators.

• Knowledge of creative testing methodologies in e-commerce marketing.

Personality:

• Curious, self-driven, and always learning—an “eternal student.”

• Strategic thinker who is also highly execution-oriented.

• Comfortable taking initiative and offering perspective, not just following instructions.

• Effective communicator and natural collaborator across creative and marketing functions.

Software & Tools:

• Creative analytics tools (e.g., Atria, Motion)

• Creative inspiration and research platforms (e.g., Foreplay)

• Project management tools (e.g., Notion, Trello, Asana)

• Google Workspace or similar
