With a mission to guide individuals on how to succeed in law school and business, our client is looking for a skilled writer to assist in creating a compelling book based on personal experiences, business challenges, and legal insights.

 

Job Description:

The Editor / Ghostwriter will play a vital role in the creation of a book aimed at law students and lawyers. The project will focus on sharing practical insights on how to succeed in law school and business in the legal field. The ideal candidate will help organize and synthesize existing content, write portions of the book, and ensure the voice and tone align with the author's direct, honest, and occasionally sarcastic style.

 

Responsibilities:

Organize and structure existing content into a cohesive narrative.

Write in the author’s voice, capturing a direct, somewhat forceful, and humorous tone.

Edit and refine sections of the book to ensure clarity and flow.

Collaborate with the client on content direction, ensuring alignment with the target demographic.

Assist with overall book structure and content organization.

Attend weekly meetings with the client to provide updates and receive feedback.

Occasionally adapt existing content or create new content where necessary.

 

Required Experience and Qualifications:

Proven experience in writing and ghostwriting, preferably for professional or business audiences.

Strong ability to capture the voice and tone of the client (direct, honest, somewhat forceful, and occasionally sarcastic).

Ability to understand and write for a target audience of law students and professionals.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to work independently and maintain self-discipline.

 

Preferred Skills:

Experience with writing books or longer-form content.

Familiarity with the legal field and its terminology is a plus, but not a necessity.

Smart, hardworking, and proactive attitude.

Ability to adapt quickly to feedback and adjust the writing style accordingly.

Understanding of conservative political and religious values (preferred for alignment with the client’s perspective).
