Our client is seeking a skilled SketchUp Specialist with a background in cabinetry, custom furniture, or woodworking. The role involves creating and managing 3D models, with a particular emphasis on utilizing Dynamic Components for efficient custom furniture design and production.

 

Job Description:

We are looking for a SketchUp Specialist with hands-on experience in cabinetry, custom furniture, or woodworking. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining accurate 3D models using SketchUp, with a strong focus on Dynamic Components to streamline custom furniture design and production. This is an ideal role for someone who understands both the technical side of SketchUp and the practical aspects of cabinet making and woodworking.

 

Responsibilities of the role:

• Create detailed 3D models of custom cabinetry and furniture in SketchUp.

• Build, edit, and maintain Dynamic Components for configurable products.

• Develop parametric models that automatically adjust dimensions and configurations.

• Collaborate with the team to translate design concepts into production-ready models.

• Optimize SketchUp libraries, templates, and reusable components.

• Ensure models are accurate and suitable for manufacturing.

• Improve existing component workflows to increase efficiency and consistency.

• Troubleshoot and refine Dynamic Component behaviors when needed.

 

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• Advanced proficiency in SketchUp.

• Strong experience creating and editing Dynamic Components.

• Previous experience in cabinetry, woodworking, millwork, or custom furniture manufacturing.

• Understanding of furniture construction methods, materials, and joinery.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and production requirements.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Good written and spoken English.

 

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with woodworking CNC workflows.

• Knowledge of Ruby scripting for SketchUp.

• Experience with CutList, Layout, or related SketchUp extensions.

• Background in interior design or furniture design.

• Experience creating component libraries for manufacturing.
