The company partners with multiple businesses to organize their financial operations, improve accounting processes, and support clients through business growth and transition projects.
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper / Senior Accounting Specialist to support our client's growing portfolio of businesses. This position will initially begin as a part-time role (approximately 25–30 hours per week) with the opportunity to transition into a full-time position as responsibilities expand.
The ideal candidate is an experienced accounting professional who can quickly take ownership of day-to-day bookkeeping activities, maintain accurate financial records, and work independently after receiving initial guidance. This person should be comfortable working across multiple clients while maintaining strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Responsibilities of the role:
• Manage daily bookkeeping activities for multiple client accounts.
• Record and reconcile financial transactions accurately.
• Review financial records and ensure data accuracy.
• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations.
• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.
• Assist with month-end accounting processes.
• Support financial process improvements.
• Communicate with clients regarding accounting-related questions when needed.
• Assist with payroll processing when applicable.
• Follow established accounting procedures while taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
• Several years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Strong experience using QuickBooks Online.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping best practices.
• Experience performing reconciliations and journal entries.
• Ability to work independently after initial training.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Professional written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
• Comfortable working Eastern Time hours when collaboration is required.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience processing payroll.
• Experience using ADP or similar payroll software.
• Exposure to NetSuite is a plus.
• Experience supporting multiple companies or clients.
• Background in accounting within small or mid-sized businesses.
Personality:
• Self-motivated and dependable.
• Quick learner who takes ownership of assigned work.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Proactive with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Coachable and able to implement feedback effectively.
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating with the team when needed.
Software & Tools:
• QuickBooks Online
• ADP (preferred)
• NetSuite (nice to have)
Schedule:
Part-time role (approximately 25–30 hours per week) with the opportunity to transition into a full-time position.
Flexible work schedule based on mutually agreed working hours.
