Our Client is a boutique outsourced accounting and CFO advisory firm specializing in providing accounting, payroll, and financial advisory services to a diverse range of clients across various industries.

 

Job Description:

Our Client is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support multiple clients in a remote, part-time capacity. This position starts at approximately 15–20 hours per week, with the potential for full-time work for the right candidate. The role will involve a variety of accounting, payroll, and project-based tasks, ideal for someone who thrives in client service environments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and review payroll for multiple companies using platforms such as QuickBooks Payroll, Paychex, ADP, or similar systems.

• Ensure payroll compliance with California payroll regulations.

• Manage employee payroll changes, including compensation updates, deductions, and benefits.

• Administer employee garnishments and related compliance.

• Support wage reporting and employment-related filings.

• Assist with workers’ compensation audits by preparing payroll reports and supporting documentation.

• Record payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related accounts.

• Perform full-cycle accounting support for multiple clients.

• Assist with monthly close activities.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger, bank, and credit card accounts.

• Review and code transactions in QuickBooks Online.

• Support preparation of financial reports and supporting schedules.

• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis.

• Clean up and reconcile complex or unreconciled accounts.

• Review and reorganize charts of accounts.

• Prepare year-end workpapers and schedules for tax preparation.

• Reconcile payroll liabilities and correct historical payroll entries.

• Investigate and resolve balance sheet discrepancies.

• Support inventory and cost accounting cleanup.

• Assist with system migrations or accounting file reorganizations.

• Track billable and non-billable time by client in timekeeping software.

• Record time daily by client.

 

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• 3+ years of accounting and/or payroll experience.

• Strong experience with QuickBooks Online.

• Experience with QuickBooks Payroll, ADP, or similar payroll platforms.

• Experience supporting multiple clients or companies simultaneously.

• Strong attention to detail and organization.

• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

• Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

 

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with California overtime, sick pay, and retirement plan requirements.

• Experience with inventory and cost accounting.

• Experience supporting workers’ compensation audits.

• Experience working in accounting firms, outsourced accounting, or payroll service providers.

• Experience supporting multiple entities or complex accounting environments.

 

Personality:

• Able to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

 

Software & Tools:

• QuickBooks Online

• QuickBooks Payroll, ADP, or similar payroll platforms

Schedule:

9am to 1pm (PST)
