Job Title: Drafter/Programmer

Job Description:

The Drafter/Programmer will be responsible for generating precise shop drawings and waterjet-ready toolpaths for the Jet | Vel machine using AutoCAD and Alphacam. This role necessitates close collaboration with project managers, field technicians, and the operations team to guarantee that fabrication files are accurate, efficient, and primed for production.

 

Responsibilities:

• Produce detailed 2D fabrication drawings in AutoCAD based on field measurements and project requirements.

• Program and generate waterjet toolpaths using Alphacam for Park Industries Jet | Vel systems.

• Interpret DXF files, project drawings, and Moraware data to layout and label countertop pieces.

• Ensure drawings accurately reflect sink cutouts, edge profiles, backsplash, apron details, and seam locations.

• Optimize layouts for material yield and waterjet cutting efficiency.

• Add notes, slab tags, and reference markers to minimize errors in the shop.

• Coordinate closely with the drafting manager and update shared folders with final files.

 

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D drafting.

• Experienced in Alphacam programming for Park Industries Jet | Vel or similar waterjet systems.

• Strong understanding of stone countertop fabrication processes.

• Ability to read field measurements and translate them into production-ready layouts.

• Familiarity with sink mounting, radius corners, backsplash alignment, and edge details.

• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).

 

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Moraware or Slabsmith is a plus.

• Background in architectural drafting.

• Ability to troubleshoot drawing errors or production questions independently.

• Strong collaborative spirit and able to work effectively within a team.

• Proactive problem-solver who can work independently when necessary.
