Job Description:

We are seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Sr. Immigration paralegal with 3 years of experience in Immigration Law. This role is ideal for an experienced Lawyer with strong legal English skills and a passion for team leadership. This person will play a critical role in the management and guidance of a team of paralegals, legal assistants, and eventually foreign-trained attorneys preparing for cases in the US. The ideal candidate is both strategic and resilient—capable of working under pressure, multitasking, and being strict.

 

Responsibilities:

Oversees and processes a high volume of diverse immigration cases, including petitions, applications, and responses to government requests.

Acts as a primary point of contact for clients, providing case updates, explaining legal processes, and managing expectations.

Maintains a professional demeanor and uses emotional intelligence to navigate challenging interpersonal dynamics.

Conducts in-depth research to support attorney strategies and stay updated on evolving immigration regulations.

Consistently delivers high-quality work on time, demonstrating accountability and follow-through.

Assigns responsibilities and manages workload distribution within the paralegal team.

 

Required Experience and Qualifications:

Strong English and Spanish communication skills (written and verbal).

Legal English proficiency and understanding of U.S. legal terminology and documentation.

Proven experience developing and leading teams, ideally in legal or professional services.

Experience working with remote teams and adapting to constant changes in the environment.

 

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with content creation and knowledge management tools such as Notion, Synthesia, and Canva.

Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.

Background in legal education, legal operations, or legal process outsourcing (LPO) is a plus.

Interest or experience with AI-powered content development tools.

 

Personality:

Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.

Strong communicator with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly.

The role often involves high-stakes cases, strict deadlines, and potential conflicts, requiring the ability to remain composed and effective.

While respecting authority, the ability to assert professional opinions and communicate effectively is vital. This includes confidence in one's knowledge and abilities.
